CPR, in Caveball’s world, stands for Comprehensive Player Rankings. This ranking combines a player’s individual factors: stats, age and injury risk, with the often overlooked external factors, such as: home ballpark, league, teammates, and opposing teams in the division. For hitters, we also consider the line-up, the player’s potential position in the line-up, and the opposing pitchers in the division. For pitchers, we also delve into fielding support and the level of offense of divisional foes.

A player’s individual factors will account for approximately 80% of his ranking. While his external factors will comprise close to 20%. These percentages are approximate because there is a grey area, especially with a hitter. His overall run production (Runs and RBI) is related to both his individual performance, and the performance of his surrounding line-up.
